Who I Am

My name is Dave Briggs. Some of my friends call me Dangerous Dave, and a few call me Crash, but they all know me as one thing first and foremost - a drummer. Music is the most important part of my life. It's inspired me, taught me, and in some ways, saved me. I owe music a lot, so it's my mission in life to give back to it through my talents as a drummer. This is reflected through the passion I exude in my playing, where I put everything I have into my performances and treat every one of them like it could be my last.

How I Got Here

I was born and raised by my mother and grandmother in South Central, Los Angeles. Though I've lived in Las Vegas, Charleston, Jacksonville, and Phoenix, LA will always be my home. and I reside there today. Some of my first memories in life are of my family listening funk, soul, R&B and rock, so my relationship with music started early. Though music was always my #1 love, I wasn't one of those kids who had drumsticks in my hands since the toddler days. It wasn't until I randomly stumbled upon a video of Dave Grohl and was mesmerized by his playing that I began dreaming about becoming a drummer. I wasted no time begging my mother to get me a drum set, promising her that if she did, I would give it my all. Though she was convinced it would just be a phase, my mom eventually found a cheap drum set for me at a yard sale. It was the best gift I ever received. Once I got started, I couldn't put my drumsticks down. The days became weeks, then months, and finally years as I got more and more lost in my craft, dedicating countless hours to be the best drummer I can be. To this day, those hours never feel like work, but are truthfully me at my happiest. Nearly 20 years later and after seeing me play live countless times, I think my mom can safely say it wasn't just a fad for me.
