“I first met Dave years ago, while his band, The Cab, were touring with us and Simple Plan across the US. Drums were my first instrument, so I always notice them first when I listen to another band. I wasn't familiar with the band at that point, but I would be warming up and hear these crushing grooves coming from the stage. It quickly became part of my warmup routine to go with Ian, our drummer, and watch The Cab every night, specifically to watch Dave. He has an absolutely stellar sense of time, and hits like a man. His parts are extremely musical as well. The worst thing any good player can do is walk all over the song with busy parts that don't serve the song. Sometimes the best players are the worst musicians. I never heard one part I didn't love. All of Dave's parts perfectly support what needs supporting.
